Did you know? Today is Multicultural Children’s Book Day! Despite missing a year, I’m positively delighted to be participating once again by formally reviewing the most beautiful book…

Getting quality, diverse books into the hands of young readers is a mission I can get behind, ten-thousandfold… it blesses my globally-minded, bookwormy heart! The organizers matched me with Tessa Strickland, Kate Depalma, & David Dean’s new book:

The Barefoot Book of Children takes readers on a journey ’round the world, wherein kids can peekaboo into the homes and daily lives of their peers, worldwide, by way of vibrant illustrations and a warm, inclusive message in that presents a picture of cohesive unity while highlighting inherent uniqueness in the kalideskope of God’s greatest creation.

This is simply not a book you want to miss, it’s a must read and brilliant addition to any home (or school, or church) library. Check it out, and check out the additional books featured online today– I know I’ll have my Amazon wishlist open & at-the-ready!

Multicultural Children’s Book Day 2017 (1/27/18) is in its 5th year and was founded by Valarie Budayr from Jump Into A Book and Mia Wenjen from PragmaticMom. Our mission is to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include kids’ books that celebrate diversity in home and school bookshelves while also working diligently to get more of these types of books into the hands of young readers, parents and educators.
