Simple Summer Fun: VBS Week

Vacation Bible School, how I love thee. Let me count the ways…

1) You teach my kids about Jesus. 100+ cheerful volunteers helping to sow seeds of faith into the hearts and minds of children? Yes please.

2) Socialization. My awkward homeschooled children got to be with old and new friends every single day. We loaded up the sexy minivan each morning and sang our way to the church campus where they enjoyed games, songs, crafts, and Bible stories.

3) Mommy Time! Though I still had Little Man in tow, this weary Mama/Teacher was able to catch up on some much-needed self-care. With our home too far out of town to drive back each day, we stayed “in town” and got coffees, perused the book store, enjoyed a park-date with old neighbors, visited the museum, hit up Target, got a pedicure, and visited the pediatrician for a three year old well check (say what?!).
