What is worth getting out of my warm bed at 2:30 in the morning on a school/work night for?
This is.
This is one of my sweet Sisters from my treasured weekly Adoptive Moms support group.
She has just met her son for the first time.
Her husband flew to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to bring him home to my sweet friend and their daughter who is elated to be a first-time Big Sister. I loved how he had posted on their own blog how privileged he felt to get to introduce their long awaited son to his doting mother and ecstatic sister.
The family had their initial, sacred introductions privately upstairs in the terminal after “the boys” deplaned, before making their descent to the baggage terminal where the rest of us waited.
I wasn’t at their wedding, but I swear my sweet friend rivaled the most radiant of brides as she glided down the staircase and proudly presented her sweet boy to all of us.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place– even the other passengers (who all had been on the same four hour delayed flight) stopped and turned to watch.
What a blessing it was for me to be there. Absolutely precious.
