Camp Gramps

For Christmas, my sisters and I gifted our folks a preplanned Memorial weekend trip camping together with all of our husbands, kids, and dogs. We originally booked the lakeside campground that our family’s frequented for generations (my grandparents took their honeymoon there and both sets of THEIR parents famously crashed it), but an unforeseen infestation of fire ants canceled our reservation. In lieu of the mountains, we wound up at the coast and had the campground, the beach, a river, AND a lake (that Husband grew up sailing on with his best friend each summer) to enjoy. We had a lovely time and I managed to snap a few pics of the highlights.

We had a blast planning (and eating!) special meals, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and just being together, and returned home after three nights filthy but with full hearts.
