What I Wish I Knew Prior to Losing Alexa– Unspoken Grief Feature

These days, it seems like every time I turn around I receive the crushing news of another friend who has lost a baby.

Perhaps pregnancy and infant loss are indeed becoming more common, or maybe more women are merely choosing to more readily discuss it… regardless, it’s an all too common tragedy.

Yesterday, Unspoken Grief shared the story of our precious Alexa, whom we lost seven years ago this June.

Unspoken Grief is a website whose mission is to build and support a community of individuals and families who have been touched directly or indirectly by miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal loss. Working together to remove the stigma of perinatal grief by sharing our stories and increasing awareness of the lasting effects of perinatal loss.

My mission is to share the things I wish I had known prior to loss. I pray no other mother finds herself in such circumstance, but I am still willing to allow others to learn from our experience.

Please read, so that if one day your friend incurs such a loss you might be prepared with some insightful, practical ideas to help share her grief, in support.
