This week’s What to Read Wednesday’s a wee bit tardy, due to our post Halloween sugar crash. Coincidentally, our theme is all about nature— which makes this earth muffin especially giddy, and hesitant to confess just how many fun-size Mounds I’ve stolen from my children in a mere 24 hours.
Center Sister’s spin on nature tends to have an island bent, likely because she’s a mermaid and spent her recent tenth birthday on the island of Oahu. She’d like nothing more than to be stranded on her own deserted ocean outcropping.
Cast Away, The Blue Lagoon (and Return to the Blue Lagoon), Nim’s Island, Swiss Family Robbinson, and even Tarzan are in her regular movie queue. Naturally, this nerdy homeschool mama has steered her towards similarly immersive, survivalist-themed literature with island settings. (click pics for links)
Our hosts will still share a themed selection of our favorite books each week.
By linking up you agree that if your blog post is selected to be featured on any of our hosts’ blogs that we can use an image from your post with a link back to your post.
